Havana's 26th International Film Festival 

December 2007

Program

Day 1 Depart Cancun, Mexico via Aerocaribe Airlines (8:00 PM). Private transfer from the airport in Havana to the legendary, five star, Hotel Nacional De Cuba (Film Festival headquarters). Welcome cigar and cocktail reception. Evening open. 

Day 2 Breakfast Register for Film Festival credentials. Private tour of the worlds oldest, Partagas cigar factory followed by a cocktail and cigar with Partagas President, Sr. Abel Diaz. Optional tour program available for non smokers). Lobster lunch at Hemingway's favorite “haunt,” Restaurante El Floridita. Tour of old and new Havana. Dinner at Havana’s most popular Restaurante El Aljibe. Film Festival opening ceremonies.

Day 4 Breakfast. Depart (1 hour) for La Moka (Cuba’s most important ecotourist lodge situated amidst the ruins of an early 19th century French coffee plantation. Lunch in a restored plantation owner’s house amidst the ruins. Or, an authentic Cuban pig roast along one of the rivers. Return to Havana. Dinner in the Grand Dining Room of the Hotel Nacional De Cuba. Evening open.

Day 5  Breakfast. Morning open for individual tours. Lunch Restaurante Las Terazza in Cojimar Harbor followed by a visit with 104 year old Gregorio Fuentes (The Old Man and the Sea). Bring a book to be signed! Visit Hemingway’s home and museum at La Finca Vigia. Dinner in the garden court of the Mansion La Ferminia. Evening open.

Day 6Breakfast. Depart (2 hours) via private biplane to the world famous fishing resort of Cayo Las Brujas. (22) five star, ocean front cabins on a seven mile (nearly deserted) beach will be available for each person. Afternoon salt water fishing and snorkeling sessions. This a “world class” Tarpon fishing site. Options include: fishing sessions, beach activities, visit a ship wreck or snorkeling on live, unexplored reefs. Lunch and dinner at the hotel.

Day 7 Breakfast. Return to Havana and check into the five-star, Hotel Nacional De Cuba. Dinner at the elegant and private Club Havana (formerly the Biltmore Yacht Club). 

Day 8 Breakfast. Open schedule. Activities may include: Marlin fishing, golf at Havana’s historic Diplomat’s golf club, scuba at Club Havana individual tours, shopping, etc. Dinner in the private salon of the Tropicana Night Club followed by the legendary “Tropicana Review.”

Day 9 Depart for Cancun, Mexico at 8:00 AM or 3:05 PM depending on your connections. End of services.

Program will include: Cancun airport services; R/T air Cancun to Havana;Visa; Private airport transfers in Havana; Welcome reception; (6) nights lodging at the Hotel Nacional De Cuba; Daily buffet breakfast; Film Festival credentials; La Moka visit with lunch; Hotel Nacional dinner; Hemingway museum and home visit; Club Havana dinner; Tropicana night club show and dinner; Partagas factory tour; El Aljibe dinner; El Floridita lobster lunch; (1) night lodging at Las Brujas with meals; La Ferminia dinner; Book signing with the “The Old Man and the Sea” and lunch at Restaurante Las Terazza in Cojimar Harbor; Private, air-conditioned transportation to all program events; Private air to Las Brujas; English-speaking guides; Tips to drivers and guides and Last Frontier Expedition’s personal representation.

Air fare to Cancun, Mexico.
Mexico departure tax (if in Cancun more than 24 hours prior to departure to Cuba).
Cuba airport departure tax ($20)
Telephone, mini bar and guest room services at all hotels. Marlin fishing ($75 per person includes fishing equipment). (4) persons to a boat.
Golf at the Diplomat’s Club ($55 includes, caddy, clubs and green fee).
Scuba diving ($40.00 per two tank dive).

Hyatt Regency “early arrival in Cancun” option available
Regular rooms are $129.00 per room not per person.
Regency Club rooms are $169.00 per room not per person.
Vacation Plus package (which includes unlimited drinks and food at all hotel restaurants and bars including room service) is $75.00 additional at check in.
